The Business Launch Event was more really about features what we can dazzle you with like a consumer launch event. It was more about Business Case Studies on how businesses like the Edmonton Oilers and Harley Davidson use the Office Tools & products to be more effective and effient  in there day to day tasks the Oilers are doing while Sharepoint 2010 it allows them to track research and collborate & find out info easier and quicker then a new player and recruit. Through there Scout Portal.

But after presentation & round table discussion there was great Q&A from the audience there was a demo pods setup at the back of the room for intrested parties to demo and check out New Features of Excel & Sharepoint of what was just previously discussed.

All & All it was great morning & we came away with some great information of how the companies are using the product & some great Office 2010 Swag

has long been known as a dedicated blogging platform, giving users the tools they need to publish their message and interact with readers.  However, with the official release of version 3.0, set to drop this month, the platform will be much closer, if not well within the territory of a content management system (CMS).

The list of new features in WordPress 3.0 isn’t very long in comparison to previous releases.  However, the changes that are coming will certainly have a significant impact, particularly if you use WordPress as a CMS.  Here is a rundown of the most important new features arriving in version 3.0.

1. Custom Post Types

By default, WordPress lets you publish two types of content: “Posts” and “Pages.”  In version 3.0, you can define additional content types with their own attributes.  For example, if you’re running a WordPress site for a design agency, you might create a custom post type to display portfolio items, another for employee pages, and another for client testimonials.  From there, you can customize your theme to better suit each individual post type.

You might even want to turn your WordPress site into something more like TumblrTumblr

.  This will be easy to do in WordPress 3.0 simply by creating custom post types for Text, Photo, Quote, Link, Chat, Audio, and Videovideo

Thanks to custom post types, there are many new possibilities for how you use WordPress to publish any sort of content.

2. Menu Management

Menu management is one of the most exciting and talked about features in WordPress 3.0.  This feature gives you full control over your site’s navigation menus.  With an easy drag and drop interface, users can create menus that include any mixture of links to internal pages, external URLs, categories, you name it.  Then you can embed these custom menus as a widget wherever your theme allows.

So let’s say you’re running a site which has several informational pages, plus a blog, featured video posts, and you also want to promote your social media presence.  You can customize your main navigation to look something like this:

• HOME
• BLOGblog(links to the main blog page)
• VIDEOS (links to the video category, or post type)
• INFO PAGE
• INFO PAGE
  • SUB INFO PAGE
• TWITTER (links to your TwitterTwitterprofile)
• FACEBOOK (links to your FacebookFacebookFan Page)

Changing the order, titles, and destination of these links is a piece of cake with menu management in WordPress 3.0.

3. Custom Taxonomies

While this new feature may seem a bit complex to non-developers, it certainly brings WordPress 3.0 closer to a true CMS.  Custom taxonomies allow you to create additional pieces of meta information.  By default, there are “Categories” and “Tags.”  Now we can add additional types, with the option of being hierarchical or not.

So what does this mean exactly?  Here are some examples of what you can do with custom taxonomies:

Let’s say you’re a film fanatic and you use your WordPress blog to post reviews and rate new movies.  You can create a custom taxonomy for “RatingRating

,” then add R, PG-13, PG, G to every review.

Another example would be real estate listing websites.  In addition to photos and descriptions, you might use additional taxonomies to provide a list of specs on each property such as asking price, number of bedrooms, year built, etc.

4. New Default Theme: “Twentyten”

Twentyten is the long-overdue default theme packaged with new installations of WordPress 3.0.  It features a clean, yet bold design and introduces some nice functionality not found in many themes.  Two features built into Twentyten are particularly useful if you’re new to WordPress and don’t have the coding skills to customize your theme.  They are:

Custom Header Image

The Twentyten theme gives you the ability to easily change your site’s header image.  Packaged with the theme are eight interesting banner images to choose from.  You can also upload your own image.  This feature isn’t limited to the Twentyten theme.  It can be activated and included by theme developers as well.

Custom Background Image

Another nifty feature found in Twentyten is the ability to upload your own background image for your site.  You can also set a solid background color if you want.  While this is likely an easy thing to tweak even for those with only light knowledge of web development, it’s certainly useful for those who don’t want to get their hands dirty and edit CSS.  Again, custom background functionality can be included in other themes as well if activated by the theme developer.

5. Multi-site

You can’t discuss WordPress 3.0 without mentioning the new multi-site capabilities.  That is, you can manage several different websites (with different domains and/or sub-domains) all with a single installation of WordPress.  What was previously known as WordPress MU (Multi-User) is now merged with the core WordPress system in 3.0.  Enabling multi-site capabilities likely isn’t something for the average user, as it requires some tinkering with the code and configuring server settings.  That said, the average user likely isn’t interested in having multi-site capabilities.

So who benefits from running a multi-site installation of WordPress?  It’s perfect if you’re running a blog network, or manage a large news organization with many different departments.  Perhaps your business has each employee running their own blog with a unique design or even their own domain.  These are situations where multi-site functionality can be useful.

What Else?

Here are a few of the minor feature enhancements arriving in WordPress 3.0:

Get Shortlink (with your own domain)

We all know how useful URL shorteners can be, especially for tweeting links.  WordPress 2.9 gave you the ability to use the wp.me URL shortener.  WordPress 3.0 takes this feature a step further by allowing you to get a shortlink for your post based on your own domain name.  For example: http://mashable.com/?post=7127.  You don’t need to mask your URL with other services like bit.lybit.ly

.  Now you can keep your branding intact when you tweet your links.

Author Templates

New in 3.0 is the ability to create unique author templates.  This is great if you’re running a multi-author blog and you’d like to apply unique styles or layouts to individual author pages.

Select Username and Password During Installation

Before WordPress 3.0, new installations automatically set your master account to username “admin” with an auto-generated password.  Now, you can define these during installation, saving you the hassle of changing them later.  It also adds a new layer of securityHome Security

.  WordPress sites have been known to be compromised simply because they use the most common username, “admin.”

Six cores. That’s how many are in Intel’s ridiculous new Core i7-980x. MaximumPC takes us deep inside the world’s fastest CPU, with full, mind-searing benchmarks.

Meet the world’s fastest CPU. OK, so we just gave away the big reveal to our report before you even flipped one page, and without so much as the common courtesy of a spoiler alert. For that, we do not apologize, because it’s not like you couldn’t have guessed how this one would end up. After all, Intel’s new 3.33GHz Core i7-980X builds on all the goodness of the ass-kicking quad-core 3.33GHz Core i7-975 Extreme Edition, but is smaller, cooler, and has an additional two cores under its heat spreader. With Hyper-Threading enabled, that’s a cool 12 threads at the ready. How could anyone screw that one up?

In fact, Intel’s Core i7-980X seems to be one of the most flawless launches we’ve seen from the company in some time. By flawless, we mean there are no contortionist acts, such as explaining to consumers that a new socket (LGA1156) will have the same CPU branding as an incompatible existing socket. Nor is there the head-scratcher of a very novel, yet very limp, integrated graphics chip in a CPU (Clarkdale), which, by the way, won’t work in boards that lack graphics output ports.

With Core i7-980X, you update your BIOS, drop the chip in, and-voilà-you spend hours rocking a six-core high. Put simply, Core i7-980X is 24-ounces of prime-rib red meat for performance enthusiasts who really haven’t had much to gnaw on since the original 3.2GHz Core i7-965 Extreme Edition came out two years ago.

So we’re done, right? You don’t need to read on? Sorry, there’s still more to learn. If you want to know if your motherboard works with the new chip, what applications can really exploit the six cores, and how this bad boy performs, you’ll have to keep reading.

What’s in a Name?
We know that, by now, enthusiasts should be immune to Intel’s confusing model numbers, but there’s one thing that sticks in our craw about the Core i7-980X: Despite it being the world’s first consumer x86 hexa-core, and despite it using the latest 32nm process, it’s label is a mere five notches greater than the quad-core Core i7-975 Extreme Edition part it ostensibly replaces.

Surely, all the goodness of two more cores and a total 12 threads of computing would warrant a Core i9 designation, or at the very least, a much higher model number, right? No, Intel officials told us. The company said that, despite previous reports that it would call its hexa-core Core i9, Intel backed off when retailers and vendors complained of too many blasted brands. And as to why it isn’t a 999X or 9900X, Intel said such gestures are unnecessary. The part is designed for enthusiasts and the folks who buy it will know that it’s not a mere five clicks more than a Core i7-975.

Beneath the Surface
Fortunately, the chip is fairly simple to understand. It uses the new 32nm process that was introduced with the dual-core Core i5/Core i3 Clarkdale CPUs. For code-name junkies, that makes it part of the Westmere family-not part of the original 45nm Nehalem family. All six-cores reside on a single contiguous piece of silicon. Like the original Nehalem CPUs, each core has 2MB of L3 available to it, giving the CPU a total of 12MB of L3 cache. The cache is shared across all the individual cores, which means a single core can have up to 12MB of L3 cache if the other five cores are sleeping.

As is the case with all Extreme processors, the chip is fully unlocked letting you change multipliers as well as Turbo Mode ratios. Turbo Boost is present but not as pedal-to-the-firewall as the LGA1156 parts. The Core i7-980X will give you a Turbo Boost up to 133MHz if more than one core is active. With single-threaded apps, the CPU will Turbo Boost up to 266MHz. That’s boring compared to the Core i7-870, which will boost from 2.93GHz to 3.6GHz, or about 733MHz. We’d be remiss, though, if we didn’t point out that the Core i7-870 starts out at a much lower clock speed.

If You Build It, Will They Come?
If you think it’s all sunshine and lollipops for hexa-core computing, it’s not. As always, the problem is finding applications that will actually use the available threads. That was a problem with the original dual-cores and quad-cores; now with a hexa-core and Hyper-Threading, the situation hasn’t improved much. The apps aren’t nonexistent, but they’re certainly not as prevalent as you would hope. That makes upgrading to the Core i7-980X something you’ll want to think about first. Certainly, if you are a mega-multitasker, more cores don’t hurt. But if your primary applications are single- or dual-threaded, the extra cores will just sit idle, so you’ll need to seriously consider whether paying for a hexa-core makes sense.

A Close-Up Look at the Core i7-980X

All six cores of Intel’s Core i7-980X share 12MB of L3 cache on the die. The 1.17 billion–transistor CPU also has two QPI connections but only one is enabled on consumer CPUs. The second QPI is use for multi-CPU Xeon configurations.

In the final analysis, this is a CPU that turns in performance that is, at its worst, equivalent to the Core i7-975 it replaces. At its best, the i7-980X offers up to 50 percent more performance than its closest competitor. That’s pretty much unprecedented and certainly helps the Core i7-980X earn its crown as the new performance king.

The real reason people will want to use the iPad Tablet is for all there Ebook reading & movie watching needs. So here is how the NEW iBooks looks like & full screen movies.

Below is the afore mentioned Keyboard & Dock attachment you can have while being in a coffee shop or at home. Combine that with wifi & 3G you got a pretty powerful machine to semi replace your laptop so give it shot when it comes out in April/ March.
